Searching for more balance in your life? Looking for the best all-inclusive wellness resort in the United States? You need the magic of Miraval Resort & Spa. With locations near Tucson, Arizona; Austin, Texas; and the Berkshires in Massachusetts, you have your pick of beautiful natural settings, inspirational wellness specialists, and a wide range of life-changing experiences.
I’ve been lucky to spend a long weekend at Miraval three times now – the first two times at Miraval Arizona for my 50th birthday and then for my sister’s 55th birthday. In 2025, I had the pleasure of experiencing Miraval Austin in Texas as part of a Travel Advisor retreat. I came home from all my trips to Miraval rejuvenated and inspired to live more healthfully and be more intentional in my relationships.

With creative programming, top wellness specialists, nourishing cuisine, and unique spa treatments, Miraval is like a summer camp for grown-ups, helping guests chart their own path for transformation, renewal, and mindful living. You get to decide how you want to invest in yourself based on the aspects of wellness that are most important to you – physical, spiritual, emotional, interpersonal, or simply relaxing and spending time with friends. Or all of the above! The areas of activity include:
Physical fitness – Traditional classes like bootcamp, strength training, yoga, and TRX plus non-traditional classes like cardio drumming (my favorite!), samba, aerial yoga, and aqua barre
Outdoor adventures – Hiking, mountain biking, challenge courses, equine experiences, beekeeping, watersports
Emotional wellness – Meditation, counseling, and educational seminars
Metaphysical and spiritual - Soul journey, starpath and astrology, sound bath, the art of letting go
Nourishment and nutrition – Culinary classes, gut health, immune support, longevity, metabolic deep dives, meal planning
And then there’s the spa – always the highlight of my day. At the spa, you can choose from all the usual treatments plus unique Ayurveda and Eastern offerings, like Naga, a Thai massage using hanging silk supports. I like to be physically and mentally active all day with a schedule full of classes, and then relax at the spa in the early evening with a steam, massage, and shower before meeting up with friends for a drink, dinner, and recap of the day. After dinner, you head back to your room with full hearts and full bellies and collapse in Miraval’s uber comfy beds.
Hiking, yoga, yoga, horses - you create your perfect day!
All-Inclusive Destination Wellness Resort
Everything is included at Miraval, so you don’t have to worry about a thing. Upon arrival at the airport (Tucson, Arizona; Austin, Texas; or Hartford, Connecticut for the Berkshires), your complimentary shuttle will be waiting for you. All of the incredibly delicious (and healthy!) meals, snacks, and non-alcoholic beverages are included, as are most activities. You also receive a resort credit of $175 per day to spend at the spa or on fee-based classes. Plus, through my partnership with Hyatt Privé, you receive additional resort credits and a room upgrade. If you’re traveling with a group of friends or family, I can offer a fantastic group rate plus special perks to make your experience even more magical.
For those of you wondering about alcohol, it IS allowed, but not included. Miraval’s wine list is filled with eco-friendly and women-owned wineries from all over the world. And their cocktail menu takes inspiration from the area. I still dream about their spicy prickly pear margarita at Miraval Arizona!

Nestled on 400 acres of idyllic land in the Sonoran Desert north of Tucson, you’ll find all the Earth’s elements wherever you turn. While waterfalls, desert sand, and saguaro cacti surround you, firepits and comfy couches are strategically positioned throughout to warm you from the desert chill and spark conversations and relaxation. The Santa Catalina Mountains, with their ever-changing colors, offer a peaceful and picturesque backdrop.
Miraval Arizona is the largest of the three resorts and offers challenging off-property mountain hiking as well as The Retreat, a section of 1-3BR villas with chef's kitchens, private pools, and large living spaces. These villas are perfect for group getaways, bachelorette parties, and corporate retreats. We enjoyed a 3BR villa for my 50th birthday celebration!
Miraval Arizona's beauty and The Retreat's perfect setting for a girlfriend getaway
Resting on 220 acres in the Balcones Canyonlands Preserve overlooking Lake Travis, Miraval Austin is a serene hill country haven of ancient trees, rare songbirds, and diverse wildlife. As the smallest of the Miraval properties, you can easily meander the property's trails that hug the hills and enjoy a more intimate wellness experience. You'll find Miraval Austin stays true to its Texan roots with equine experiences, country line dancing, kayaking on Lake Austin, Tex-mex-inspired culinary options, and their 10-acre Cypress Creek Farm featuring horses, burros, chickens, ducks, and honeybees.
Miraval Austin's setting in Texas Hill Country
This New England sanctuary is perched among 380 acres of pine trees, dogwoods, and rolling hills in the Berkshire countryside where you can enjoy all four seasons in all their glory. With a maze of indoor interlinking passageways, you can move through the Gilded Age historic mansion to the elegant minimalism of the Life in Balance Spa, all the way to the bucolic Meadowview Acres Farm, without stepping outside if it's rainy or cold.
Fall is the Berkshires' high season, and there’s no better place to witness autumn’s stunning leaf transformation from green to red and gold. Once winter's white blanket of snow has arrived, you can get a workout in cross-country skiing and snowshoeing outside or swim in the full-size indoor saltwater pool, then enjoy a cozy firelit night in the mansion. As Spring's rhododendron blossoms and summer's sunny splendor return, guests are ready for Miraval Berkshires golf, a course built by Wayne Stiles and John Van Kleek in 1926. The Berkshires is the only Miraval property that offers and includes golf as part of the wellness package. With an indoor simulator and mindful golf offerings, you can work on your game year-round! This is a selling point for my golf-loving boys, as I'm looking to bring my husband and kids to Family Week. Miraval Berkshires is the only property that sets aside special weeks each year for families to bring their children.

Favorite Miraval Activities
Miraval is the perfect place to challenge yourself, get back to healthfulness, contemplate who you are and how you want to grow, and relax and be pampered, too. I like to step out of my comfort zone, challenge myself both physically and mentally, and stay active for most of the day. If there are opportunities for growth, sign me up! See an example of the offerings for just one day at Miraval Austin. Weekends have twice as many choices! Your biggest issue will be figuring out how to fit in everything you want to experience and still have time to relax at the spa and enjoy the food and pools!

A sample of my favorite activities includes:
Hiking in the desert - the on-property hikes are lovely, but the off-property ones will challenge you!
Cardio drumming - so fun you won't realize you're working out!
Out on a Limb - part of the challenge course. So scary, but I'm so glad I did it!
Equine art - I had the best time getting creative with a horse!
Outdoor yoga
Water fitness classes
The Art of Letting Go
Nutritional seminar with personal metabolic deep dive
Hanging out by the pool with girlfriends
Massages at the spa
